Is a firm mattress better for your back?
If you spend the majority of your sleep on your back or stomach, it is likely a firm mattress is better suited to you than a soft mattress. When lying on your back or front, you don’t want to sink into the bed as much as you would when lying on your side. Instead, you want the firm support of a mattress.
Which mattress is firmest?
Using over 20 years of mattress design experience, our Teddy iDream bed is a specially engineered mattress of medium firmness to sufficiently support your body and relieve back pain. Its foundation uses a high-density foam layer, followed by a combination of both Memory Foam and Natural Latex. Made with sustainable materials and eco-friendly fabric for a peaceful and guilt-free sleep, night after night.
Which mattress is best for a slat bed base?
The idream and teddy junior mattresses are perfect for a slatted bed base.
We do not recommend the idream Hybrid as the pocket springs can shift between the gaps on a slatted base.
What is a good firm mattress to buy?
Buying a firm or medium-firm mattress from Teddy Bed means you are guaranteed quality without sacrificing the environment or your sleep. Our products follow our ethical guidelines of helping the environment while ensuring both comfort and affordability. Choose from our range of mattresses today for a good night’s sleep.
What is the difference between a Hybrid or Foam mattress?
Hybrid mattresses combine the cushion of foam layers with the bounce of innersprings, where foam mattresses have a more firmer feel.
The coils of a pocket-spring also allow for more airflow, making hybrid mattresses more breathable than a foam mattress. Because air moves throughout the mattress, hybrid mattresses shouldn't trap as much heat as foam mattresses.
Which is better Natural Latex or Memory Foam?
Great question, our
teddy mattresses are designed with 20mm of Natural Latex and 50mm of gel infused
memory foam.
Our founder has
over 20 years’ experience in mattress design and production, and through his
experience designed the teddy mattress.
This ratio (20mm Latex / 50mm Memory foam)
allows for the faster bounce back of latex when pressure is applied, whilst allowing for the slower body contouring and moulding to the shape of your body
of the memory foam, thus offering “the best of both worlds” in comfort.
How sustainable is the mattress really?
Through our partnership with the Seaqual Initiative we use material created from plastic collected from the ocean to spin into the yarn used in our products!
We think it's pretty awesome and this upcycling prevents unnecessary waste heading to landfill by instead diverting it back into high-quality, usable materials.
What does REACH Certified mean?
All foams used teddy mattresses are REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) compliant. This certificatioin deals with the regulations that were created to improve the environment and protect human health.
REACH addresses the risks associated with chemicals and promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances.
How does the 120 Night Sleep trial work?
Test your new mattress for up to 120 nights in your own home.
At the end of 120 nights we'll then plant a tree for you!
If you decide the mattress isn't for you, then it is cleaned and donated to charity!
Can I use the mattress on another bed base?
Yes, all our mattresses are compatible with any flat supportive surface. This includes all slat, box spring and adjustable bases.
Is shipping free? Even for rural addresses?
Yes! Shipping is on us, no matter where you live.

Is it good to use a foam mattress?
Yes, foam mattresses are brilliant solutions to provide relief for back pain and provide a good basis for spinal alignment making your nights of sleep more comfortable and your body more healthy.
How long do memory foam mattresses last?
Foam mattresses commonly last as long as other mattress types, whether spring or hybrid. This is typically up to 10 years.
Is memory foam good for sleeping?
Memory foam mattresses mould to your body allowing your body weight to be evenly distributed and helping with pain relief, comfort and motion transfer. Our mattresses have both natural latex and memory foam combining to provide the ultimate solution to comfort at night.
What are the disadvantages of a foam mattress?
As they vary in quality, make sure you purchase from a reputable manufacturer such as teddy bed. A good foam mattress NZ will feel different from past spring mattresses but once you get used to it you’ll be sleeping better than ever.
Is a 15 centimetre mattress thick enough?
We believe thicker mattresses provide better quality and more support. Foam mattresses NZ upwards of 25cm provide better options for sleeping.
